JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 e822242660 docs: stage I3 -- documentation rewritten under docs/solo
Short pages by feature (getting started, messages, contacts, navigation,
tools, settings, lock, hardware) instead of one page per OLED screen, with
Wio Tracker L2 differences as notes; facts checked against the code
(keyboard scripts vs. hold-for-accents, {batt}/{dist}, L2 limits and
settings layout). Developer guides and build flags under docs/solo/developer.
Old docs/solo_features and its ~50 screenshots removed; a hero banner and
three simulator screenshots added; links updated.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 3adf0b0436 chore: stage I1 -- repo cleanup, minimal README
Working plans (docs/development, docs/design redesign notes) removed; the
two developer guides moved to docs/developer/. README cut to devices,
flashing, links and building (Wio Tracker L2 added); its feature list and
doc tables moved to docs/solo_features/README.md. RELEASE.md describes the
Solo release flow. Upstream's GitHub Pages workflow (docs.meshcore.io)
dropped, CLAUDE.md untracked, Buy Me a Coffee back in FUNDING.yml.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 7826360d13 build(solo): offline queue 128 on the nRF52 builds
The phone app's offline queue took 256 x 177 B = 45 KB, which with the
on-device UI left the L1 ~5 KB of heap from boot (the sign buffer of #38
never fit). The UI keeps its own message history, and a full queue drops
the oldest channel messages first, so 128 is plenty: the L1 heap now has
~27 KB free. L1 OLED / e-ink, ProMicro, T-Echo Lite, both GAT562; the
upstream variants/ are unchanged (build_unflags in solo/).

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 51530ac451 feat(ui-lvgl): SD card as a USB drive, message banner, card format, restart screen
- USB through TinyUSB (ARDUINO_USB_MODE=0) instead of USB-Serial/JTAG: the
serial port stays, and plugged into a computer (enumerated, the bus not
suspended -- on battery an unplug only shows as a suspend) the device asks
"Charge only / USB drive". As a drive the firmware lets go of the card and
the computer gets its sectors; ejected or unplugged, the device restarts.
- Incoming messages: a banner slides down from under the status bar (icon,
sender or channel, two lines of the text from history); a tap opens the
conversation (not while locked), a swipe up dismisses it, not shown for
the conversation already open. Toasts moved up there too, under the banner
when both are up; the ones only echoing a switch or a choice are gone.
- Storage > Format card: a popup saying what goes, then Format tapped twice;
one FAT32 volume over the whole card (readable or not), then a restart.
- A deliberate restart shows a full "Restarting..." screen with the reason
instead of the screen just freezing.
- The screenshot flash is a thin frame round the edges: a full-screen fade
redrew all 320x240 each step and tore.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 95c4c093f0 feat(ui-new): Tools > Satellites -- sky plot and signal bars on the 128x64 OLED
Two views, swapped with left / right: a polar sky plot (filled = used in the
fix, hollow = tracked, a pixel = no signal) beside fix, used / in view, HDOP,
PDOP and time to first fix; and a signal bar per satellite (used first, a
dotted 30 dB-Hz line) under per-constellation counts. The GPS stays awake
while it's open. Data from GpsSky (-D GPS_SKYVIEW, now on the L1 solo build).
The simulator's made-up sky moves from the L2's GpsScreen into
helpers/sensors/GpsSkySim.h, so both sims show it.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 cf9ffc29b0 feat(wio-tracker-l2): internal flash as LittleFS instead of SPIFFS
helpers/esp32/InternalFS.h picks the filesystem: -D ESP32_LITTLEFS mounts
LittleFS on the same "spiffs" partition, otherwise SPIFFS as before. Only the
L2 LVGL envs set it; every other ESP32 board is unchanged. A settings save
drops from ~0.5 s to ~80 ms and the files survive power loss mid-write.
No migration: the first boot formats the partition (fresh identity).

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 ed5c903c3b build(wio-tracker-l2): LVGL 9.2.2 -> 9.6.0
The triangle draw descriptor's colour fields lost their bg_ prefix and style
getters take an lv_part_t. 9.6 sizes flex containers through the layout, so
popups no longer shrink when pulled past their end: lvgl_patches.py goes.
The sim wipes its LVGL object cache when the library version changes.
Flash +73 KB.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 9d4f018696 fix(ui-lvgl): popups no longer shrink when their list is pulled past its end
LVGL 9.2.2 measures a SIZE_CONTENT box from its children as scrolled, so an
elastic pull past the end of a capped popup list shrank it by the overshoot,
again on every pull. lvgl_patches.py fixes calc_content_height in the
downloaded library (a build middleware for PlatformIO, called directly by the
sim's build_wasm.sh).

The five popups that each built the same panel now share popupOpen() (fit to
content / full height / under the status bar).

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 70921cd865 feat(ui-lvgl): GPS screen - sky plot, signal per satellite, fix details
- Home > GPS and Settings > System > GPS details: satellites on a sky plot
(filled = used in the fix, colour = C/N0), a bar per satellite with its
dB-Hz, fix state with time to first fix, DOPs, position, altitude, speed,
UTC and per-constellation counts; a Turn on button while GPS is off
- helpers/sensors/GpsSky.h parses GSV / GSA / GGA / RMC from any talker,
fed from MicroNMEALocationProvider behind -D GPS_SKYVIEW (L2 and the
sim only; L1 unchanged); the sim feeds it made-up NMEA
- Roadmap: GPS indoors diagnosed with it - on the USB cable the L76K
tracks satellites but never decodes navigation data; on battery it
gets UTC within seconds and a fix

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 277c0cddf1 feat(ui-lvgl): roadmap stage 3 - message history on SD, Storage screen, saved trails
- Message history archived per conversation on the SD card (HIST_ARCHIVE):
restored on boot, Older/Newer paging in threads, kept count selectable
- Settings > System > Storage: card and flash usage, breakdown by maps,
  messages, trails and other, kept-per-chat setting, delete history;
reads the mounted volume and warns when the FAT partition is much
  smaller than the card
- Saved trails on the card: every Save is a new file, Load opens a list
with load (framed on the map), GPX export and delete
- Diagnostics: GPS data rows, last start reason, last crash summary
- Messages restored before the clock is set show their date instead of 0s

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 4f5357031f feat(l2): Arduino 3.x as the published env, limits sized for the PSRAM, stage 7 findings
- Wio_Tracker_L2_companion_solo_lvgl now builds on Arduino-ESP32 3.3.12
(pioarduino); the 2.0.17 build stays as _solo_lvgl_arduino2 (not published)
- Per-board limits (defaults unchanged, L1 byte-for-byte the same):
  TRAIL_CAPACITY, WAYPOINT_CAPACITY, HIST_CH_MAX / HIST_DM_MAX, NEARBY_MAX;
  the L2 sets 4096 / 64 / 256 / 128 / 64 (in PSRAM with UiCore; internal
heap 154 KB free after). ui-lvgl: 32 trail segments, contact list 256,
rooms 32, 50 bubbles per conversation, pickers 128, WiFi scan 20
- Map trail drawing drops points under 2 px apart
- "Nearby" is "Nodes"; advert options "Zero hop" / "Flood"
- Roadmap stage 7: LVGL on other displays -- e-ink stays ui-new, an OLED
spike after this roadmap, Cardputer as a colour candidate

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 5124587b26 feat(ui-lvgl): roadmap stage 5 - screen PIN, live map tiles, OTA from GitHub releases
- Screen PIN (Settings > Display & power > Security): 4-8 digits in NVS,
keypad on the lock card after every wake and on boot, 5 misses -> 30 s pause
- Live map tiles: missing tiles at the current zoom are fetched over the saved
  WiFi, written to the card and drawn; WiFi drops 30 s after leaving the map;
"Live tiles" switch in Map tools
- Firmware update (Settings > System): checks the fork's latest release,
streams the -ota.bin into the spare app slot over TLS verified with the
Arduino 3.x CA bundle, checks image magic/chip id, restarts
- Release workflow publishes *_solo_lvgl envs (merged image + -ota.bin)

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 331a4e64c4 feat(l2): Arduino-ESP32 3.3.12 / IDF 5.5 env, NimBLE and new I2S driver ports, large UI buffers in PSRAM
- New env Wio_Tracker_L2_companion_solo_lvgl_v3 on pioarduino 55.03.312-1;
the 2.0.17 env stays until the new one passes the hardware checklist
- SerialBLEInterface: NimBLE variant (PIN pairing through encrypted,
authenticated characteristic properties; setAccessPermissions is a no-op)
- buzzer: i2s_std driver on IDF 5 (legacy driver kept for 2.0.17)
- ESPNOWRadio: IDF 5 callback signatures
- ui-lvgl: psramBuf() for trail drawing, tile cache, map marks, list rows,
keyboard maps and message metadata; internal heap back to 2.0.17 level

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 938dfefba6 feat(ui-core,ui-lvgl): sound in the Core, L2 speaker via ES8311, Sound settings, melody editor
- genericBuzzer I2S path (BUZZER_I2S): an audio task synthesises the notes
  with eased edges and keeps the DMA queue fed with silence between sounds;
ES8311 setup; amp powered through the board only around sounds
- ui-core/SoundControl.h (mode, volume, built-in sounds, melody model),
SoundNotifier moved to the Core, chanctl::melody, schema Sound page
- L2: notifications, alarm / timer ring, locator sounds, Settings > Sound,
melody editor with the playing note lit, per-chat sound, mute icon
- noteIndex() on every buzzer backend; scrolling popups past screen height

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 0fa7966280 feat(ui-lvgl): on-device map download over WiFi
The map's download button fetches the visible area (overview levels up to
a chosen zoom) into /sdcard/maps from OpenTopoMap or maps/source.txt,
skipping tiles already on the card and rejecting placeholder answers.
Settings > WiFi stores the network in NVS (with scan); WiFi is on only
while a download runs. HTTP runs on a worker task on core 0; the popup
shows link, internal heap and the last TLS/HTTP error.

Internal RAM was the blocker (~13 KB free with WiFi + Bluedroid): the L2
LVGL env now allocates the_mesh in PSRAM (MESH_IN_PSRAM, static RAM
210 -> 87 KB) and mbedTLS allocates from PSRAM. Confirmed on hardware.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 64321bf12b feat(ui-lvgl): offline raster map from the microSD
Map screen (Home > Map): Web-Mercator tiles from /maps/{z}/{x}/{y}.png on
the card (Meshtastic MUI layout; per-column TPK1 .pak also read), drag to
pan, +/- zoom, re-centre/follow GPS, Nearby nodes with a position as
markers opening node detail. Tiles decode one per loop pass into a
12-slot RGB565 cache in PSRAM. map/TileProvider.h is the swap point for a
later vector renderer: the screen only calls renderTile(). The tile set's
credit line comes from maps/attribution.txt.

L2 mounts the card over SDMMC 1-bit (CLK 2, CMD 3, D0 1). LVGL's lodepng
is enabled; note its LVGL patch returns an lv_draw_buf_t*, not pixels.
LVGL pool 2 MB for PNG decoding. Fonts gain map / users icons.

tools/maps/fetch_tiles.py prepares a card for an area (presets for
Poland), requires an explicit tile URL (tile.openstreetmap.org blocks
offline use) and stops on placeholder images. The LVGL sim preloads
web/maps into the L2's /sdcard and puts its GPS on Kraków.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 bf1e6fcaa0 feat(ui-lvgl): European fonts and phone-style keyboard
Fonts: Noto Sans generated with lv_font_conv (ui-lvgl/fonts/generate.sh,
OFL) replaces ASCII-only Montserrat: European Latin (Latin-1, Extended-A/B),
Greek, Cyrillic + supplement, typographic punctuation, currency, LVGL
symbols + globe; 12/14/16/20 px, clock 40 px digits only (RLE, so
LV_USE_FONT_COMPRESSED is on).

Keyboard (ui-lvgl/Keyboard.h): one layout per script (Latin QWERTY,
Cyrillic, Greek) picked by the same keyboard_main/alt_alphabet prefs as
ui-new, globe key to switch, hold a key for its variants in a popup above
it, one-shot shift, symbols page; compose limit counted in UTF-8 bytes.
First Settings screen (Keyboard: Main / Additional).

Long-press variants and UTF-8 case mapping move to ui-core/KeyboardData.h
and are shared with ui-new, whose Hold-Enter accents gain Romanian,
Turkish, Hungarian, Baltic and Icelandic letters (and ș/ț, Ukrainian /
Serbian letters now capitalise).

Verified on L2 hardware.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 cd926b7e45 feat(ui-lvgl): LVGL 9 skeleton frontend for Wio Tracker L2
New examples/companion_radio/ui-lvgl/ over the shared UI Core (env
Wio_Tracker_L2_companion_solo_lvgl, LVGL 9.2.2, pool in PSRAM):
status bar, home (clock, unread), conversation list (channels + recent
DMs with unread badges), contact picker, conversation view with bubbles,
delivery / relay markers and on-screen keyboard, toasts for Core events,
display auto-off with wake on touch / button. Board glue (LovyanGFX
flush + GT911 touch) isolated in LvglPort.h; design tokens in Theme.h.

UiCore gains the first frontend actions, sendDirectText() and
sendChannelText(), and drives DM auto-resend + unread reconcile from its
own loop (removed from ui-new's loop). MessageHistory exposes newest-first
DM ring iteration and a public contactByPrefix().

Verified on L2 hardware: navigation, send/receive, sleep/wake.

JakubandClaude Opus 5.5 221c33ec5f feat(wio-tracker-l2): board layer + ui-new bring-up env
Seeed Wio Tracker L2 (ESP32-S3R8 16MB/8MB PSRAM, SX1262, NV3031B 320x240
QSPI LCD + GT911 touch + LP5814 backlight, TCA9535 expander gating every
rail, ADS1115 battery ADC, AW35615 USB-C, L76K GNSS).

Board layer ported from meshcore-dev/MeshCore PR #3381 (Hacuchino-hash),
kept at the same paths for an easy upstream merge. Differences:
- display: dropped the UIColor theme (not adopted in this fork)
- GpsTap diagnostics wrapper omitted; GNSS reads Serial1 directly
- nv3031b ODR fix dropped: LovyanGFX >= 1.2.30 (now pinned) defines
Panel_NV3031B::init_cmds itself -- the fix became a duplicate symbol
- MESH_DEBUG_PRINTLN with a non-literal format fixed (broke MESH_DEBUG builds)
- upload_speed 115200: baud is virtual on native USB; skips the switch

solo/wio-tracker-l2 adds Wio_Tracker_L2_companion_solo_bringup: ui-new
zoomed 2x, BOOT button only, no touch -- a hardware smoke test, not a
release target (deliberately not *_solo_dual, so CI doesn't publish it).
The real UI for this board will be a new LVGL frontend.

Verified on hardware: boot, display, radio, GPS, battery, BLE app link.
First boot takes tens of seconds while SPIFFS formats its 3.4 MB partition.

JakubandClaude Sonnet 5 5933ff3178 fix(version): splash screen showed 1.17, not the actual 1.17.1 upstream base
release-notes.md's v1.25 section already documents "Updated upstream
base to companion-v1.17.1", and that merge (68527e7b) is confirmed in
main's history -- but every MESHCORE_VERSION string, including
UITask.cpp's fallback default for boards that don't set it explicitly
(Heltec v3/v4, ThinkNode, Mesh Pocket, T-Echo), was still hardcoded to
the pre-bump "1.17". Bumped every occurrence to "1.17.1" to match what
actually shipped.

JakubandClaude Sonnet 5 f952bf237f chore(solo): move PR #31's new ProMicro solo env into solo/promicro/
Merged after the fact, so it followed the old convention (solo env inside
variants/promicro/platformio.ini alongside the shared board configs). Moved
to match every other board post-restructuring -- extends still points at
Promicro, defined in variants/promicro/platformio.ini.

JakubandClaude Sonnet 5 a389a733d7 refactor(solo): move solo build configs into their own solo/ folder; one build per board; document all build flags
Solo's `_solo_dual` env for each board lived inside variants/<board>/, mixed
in with the shared upstream board configs (repeater, room server, plain
companion) that every MeshCore fork carries. Split them out into their own
top-level solo/<board>/ folder -- each still `extends` the board base defined
in its original variants/<board>/platformio.ini, just no longer interleaved
with it file-wise.

- platformio.ini: extra_configs picks up solo/*/platformio.ini alongside
  variants/*/platformio.ini.
- build-solo-firmwares.yml: env-discovery grep now scans solo/ instead of
variants/ (the release matrix is unchanged -- same 8 envs, same names).
- pr-build-check.yml: solo/** added to the trigger paths.
- GAT562 30S Mesh Kit: dropped the separate solo_ble env -- solo_dual is a
strict superset (BLE still works, plus USB), and every other board only
ever had one solo build to begin with.
- GAT562 Mesh Watch13: renamed solo_ble -> solo_dual (added DUAL_SERIAL=1) to
match. No comment anywhere recorded whether this board's USB data lines
are actually broken out to a connector -- DUAL_SERIAL compiles and works
over BLE regardless, so worst case the USB half goes unused.
- Removed a dead AUTO_SHUTDOWN_MILLIVOLTS from the three solo envs that set
it (Heltec V3/V4, T-Echo Lite+KeyShield): that macro is only ever read in
the old ui-tiny UITask, never ui-new, which every solo build (these
included) uses -- it did nothing on any of them. Left alone everywhere
else it's set (non-solo companion envs elsewhere use ui-tiny/ui-orig, or
the flag is legitimately read); out of scope here.
- Added docs/solo_features/build_flags.md: every optional -D flag a solo
build understands (GPIO, CardKB/joystick, Hall-sensor cover lock, buzzer/
vibration, GPS switch, display/battery tuning), verified against the code
rather than the existing per-board comments, with what's already baked
into every solo build kept separate from what's opt-in.
- README: doc index + Building from source section link to the new page;
path references to the moved solo files updated to solo/<board>/.

All 8 solo_dual envs rebuilt clean after the move; native test suite (40
cases) unaffected.
